STC Item Finder can be deployed on any transaction which has items. For demonstration purposes, I have deployed it on the sales order. Create a new sales order and you will see a new button “Find Items” on the Items tab:
When you click the button, the “STC Item Finder” Suitelet pops up. You then can enter part of an item name and/or description. You can enter multiple strings separated by a comma (for instance entering “prof, complete” in the item field will find all items that contain either “prof” or “complete”. Optionally select a class. Search filters can be added or removed by modifying the configuration on the script. For instance, you may have a custom field on the item record called “Size”. The field “Size” could be added to the configuration.
After you click “Search”, a new sublist “Found Items” appears with a list of items that matched the search criteria. In this example I put the word “prof, comp” in the item criteria. These two strings matched many items. The results columns are completely configurable without modifying the code.

I selected two items. When you check the select box, the quantity will default to 1. When entering any quantity, the select box will automatically be checked.

After clicking “Add Items To Transaction” you will see the two items have been added to the sales order.

You can click the “Find Items” again to add more items to the transaction.   When finished adding items make sure to save the sales order.

This application can be customized to your specific business needs.  The search criteria and results columns fields can be changed by modifying the configuration.
